story_works has opened a pan-fandom challenge for "Change of Season" that is a great challenge for the Stargate community. And since I don't know of any current Stargate fests (and if there is one, you haven't told me about it!), we'll join this one.

Tell us about leaving Atlantis on a sunny day and ending up on a planet where there is perpetual rain. Or our intrepid explorers are stuck somewhere long enough to experience the change of seasons -- how did they get there and do they escape?

Tell us, draw something, create a mood-board, whatever media strikes your fancy!

Challenge is open until May 31 -- plenty of time to create something to share. Hope you can join in!

Write yourself a note that you need to screen your stories! LOL!

The new prompts for SGA_Saturday, until April 1, are: note, screen. Use one or both somehow in a fan work... fic, art, mood board, vid... anything is fair game!

Add your work to the AO3 collection, SGA_Saturday. You have from now to April 1 to create your work.

As I'm working with melagan to set up and pimp out "Romancing McShep" (see the DW community romancingmcshep) and with mific for "Romancing SGA" (see the DW community sga_saturday) it occurs to me that SG-1 needs some love, too.

Announcing Romancing SG-1!



Running parallel to the other two fests, Romancing SG-1 will have fairly broad guidelines:

• The focus should be SG-1 characters but crossovers of any type are welcome!


• Posting will be February 14-28.


• You can define 'romance' any way you want: truuu lurve, first time, happy endings, sad endings, strong friendship, friends to enemies, whatever. Nothing is off the table.


• Any SG-1 characters, any length fic, any type art, any podfic. Whatever you'd like to do!


• You are required to use AO3 warnings.

Posting will be to the newly created AO3 collection: https://archiveofourown.org/collections/Romancing_SG1. It's an open, unmoderated collection.

Questions? Do ask! But 99.9% of the time, the answer will be "YES!" so go ahead and create whatever you'd like!

Christmas Stories

If you're suffering from the post-holiday blues, you MUST read The Baby Jesus' Pompoms: A Farm in Iowa Story by sheafrotherdon. (It's an amazing AU where John and Rodney live on a farm -- that's all you need to know to enjoy this story.) It's short but never fails to make me laugh out loud.

Fests Coming Soon

There will soon be announcement for "Romancing McShep" which will be February 14-28. The only requirement is John and Rodney and a happy ending.

Running simultaneously will be "Romancing SGA" which will be for all of your other romance (or lack thereof) in Stargate Atlantis.

And, heck, I'll set up an AO3 collection for "Romancing SG-1" and maybe we can get a few SG-1 works as well!

All of those fests will take works of any length, type, and media. So start thinking about what you might want to do if you want to join in.

sga_saturday has posted new prompts for October: 'tender' and/or 'quilt'

This challenge runs from today (Oct 1) through Nov 5.

Add a link to your fic in the DW community or, if you post on AO3, add a link to your fic to the SGA_Saturday_Prompt_Challenge community so you get noticed for the master list.

This time around, we're looking for rarer pairs and have added art, mood boards, play lists, etc as an option to fill the challenge. It will be cool to see what folk do.
